Stargazing Night

In early 2018, we will run a stargazing night to let you get acquainted with the night sky. SpaceSoc’s small telescope will be available for use and you’re welcome to bring your own equipment too. H12-931 A planisphere will also be on hand so you can easily navigate the constellations above you. Details will be posted soon on our Facebook group and Twitter account.

Falcon Heavy inaugural launch

In the second half of this month, SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket will lift off from Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center on its first flight. CPCM It will be carrying a Tesla Roadster electric car (that will be playing Space Oddity on the radio and have a towel and a copy of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy in the glovebox) and will attempt to place it into a high eccentricity orbit around Mars, where it is estimated to stay for around a billion years.
